So! Here we are with one more very common problem, presenting the ways to get rid of it. Stomach disorders have become a frequent trouble for people nowadays. The biggest factor behind this is the lack of exercise and excess of unhealthy food. There is a number of issues that upset our stomach. Below mentioned are some common stomach disorders and the reasons which cause them.

This is a specific term for various inflammatory problems in the gastrointestinal tract. It happens due to infection by food allergies which results in increased eosinophils(a type of white blood cell) in the blood. Non-contagious causes of stomach flu include allergies, drugs, parasites, or the side effects of medications while contagious causes include the fecal-oral route or by eating or drinking contaminated foods.

SYMPTOMS- Symptoms of stomach flu may include diarrhea(bloody as well as non-bloody), nausea, vomiting, mild fever, headache, vomiting, and even abdominal pain and weight loss in some cases.

PREVENTION- To reduce the effect of stomach flu (mainly in mild cases), one may drink lots of fluids; excluding caffeinated drinks and alcohol. BRAT(Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast) diet can be friendly to the stomach; avoid dairy, spicy, oily, and greasy products. It is advisable to give a lot of rest and least strain to the stomach. Though in severe cases one is required to consult a doctor.

The infrequent movement and difficulty in passing the bowel out of the body refer to constipation. The stool becomes hard and dry mainly due to lack of fiber and water. A shortage of physical inactivity by the body may also result in constipation. Moreover, people with a greater number of medications and a greater age have a higher chance of dealing with this issue. At times not using the bathroom when necessary and changing routines can also create many problems including this.

SYMPTOMS- Symptoms basically include a very lumpy, dry, and hard stool which is very difficult and straining while passing. Inside the body, one may experience pain in the abdomen with nausea and a loss of appetite.

PREVENTION- The best solution to lessen the effects of constipation is to increase the amount of fiber in the diet by increasing the intake of fruits and vegetables in the body. Also drinking plenty of water and exercising regularly may help the person as well. Caffeinated drinks are preferred. In chronic cases, consult a doctor.


They are small stones usually made of cholesterol, bile, and bilirubin usually formed in the gall bladder. In most cases, they do not create complications but if a gallstone gets trapped in an opening (duct) inside the gall bladder, it can trigger a sudden intense pain in the stomach that would long from 1-5 hours. An imbalance in the chemical formation of bile inside the stomach and excess of cholesterol in case if high levels of cholesterol result in the formation of gallstones.

SYMPTOMS- Symptoms of gallstones mostly aren’t very effective. However, one may experience pain on the right side of the body, just below the ribs or in the back between shoulder blades or in the right shoulder. Along with this nausea, vomiting, sweating and restlessness can also be seen.

PREVENTION- Naturally, apple cider vinegar with apple juice, dandelion teas, and coffee, milk thistle tonic or capsule, gold coin grass, extracts of artichoke, castor oil and yoga can help get rid of gallstones while surgical laparoscopy and other medications can be useful.

Popularly known as piles, hemorrhoids are swollen and inflamed veins in the rectum and anus that causes discomfort and bleeding. They are usually caused by straining during bowel movements. They become an issue when they begin to swell causing itching, pain, or bleeding.

SYMPTOMS- The most common symptoms are painless bleeding from the anal region along with anal inching and swelling and feeling a lump at the anus.

PREVENTION- Warm bath with Epsom salt can give good relief to this problem. Besides this remedy, aloe vera and witch hazel are also considered to be a good reliever. Other than these, ointments, soothing wipes, cold compresses, stool softeners, and other medications and doctor consultations may be helpful.

When contents from the stomach move up into Oesophagus, acid reflux happens which is known as acid regurgitation or gastroesophageal reflux. Acid reflux occurs when the lower esophageal sphincter doesn’t tighten or close properly which allows digestive juices and other contents from the stomach to rise up in the Oesophagus.

SYMPTOMS- Uncomfortable burning feeling in the chest can take place which might radiate up towards the neck (heartburn). Development of sour or bitter taste at the back of the mouth. In certain severe cases, GERD can cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing problems like chronic cough or asthma.

PREVENTION- Avoiding overeating, losing weight, and following a low-carb diet are some ways of reducing GERD. Apart from these, one should limit one’s alcohol intake, caffeinated drinks, carbonated beverages, citrus juices, chocolates, and raw onion. Chewing gum may produce relive to the esophagus but avoid mint content if possible. Fruits, mustard, and ginger tea can provide aid from GERD.


The development of small sacs or pockets in the wall of the colon is called diverticular disease. It involves three conditions:

(a). Diverticulosis is the formation of numerous tiny pockets in the line of the wall.

(b). Diverticular Bleeding occurs with chronic injury to the small blood vessels that are next to the tiny pockets.

(c). Diverticulitis occurs when there is inflammation and infection in one or more pocket.

SYMPTOMS- Symptoms may include common problems such as lower abdomen cramps along with the feeling of tenderness over the affected area. There might be swelling Or bloating too with traces of rectal bleeding and fever. Constipation or diarrhea can also be seen.

PREVENTION- Patients suffering from diverticular disease are recommended to have a liquid and low fiber diet. Intake of vitamin D can be useful while applying heat can relieve painful stomach cramps. Herbal remedies include garlic and turmeric. Besides these intakes, regular exercise can benefit as well. One must visit a doctor in case of severe unease.


PUD occurs on the formation of open sores or ulcers in the stomach or the first part of the small intestine. One of the causes of this disease is a bacterial infection that eats away the protective lining of the digestive system. Another main cause of this disease is the use of NSAIDS, a group of pain-relieving medicines. While PUD has nothing to do with stress and certain kind of food which is generally believed as a common cause by people.

SYMPTOMS- One may suffer from burning pain in the middle or upper stomach between meals or at night or temporary pain while eating or taking an antacid. Heartburn and nausea or vomiting may characterize the acute stage of this disease whereas weight loss, severe pain in the mid to upper abdomen, and dark black stool may represent the severe stage.

PREVENTION- Probiotics like yogurt can help to restore the balance of the bacteria in the digestive tract. Colorful fruits containing flavonoids (a type of polyphenols) like apple, cherries, lemons, oranges, and ginger can help with stomach ulcers. Other home remedies may include honey, garlic, turmeric and aloe vera intolerable stage. Consulting a doctor is suggested if the pain or problem is intolerable.
